This monograph analyzes the theory and practice of media education and media literacy. The book also includes the list of Russian media education literature and addresses of websites of the associations for media education. The publication of the book was supported by the grant of the analytical departmental specialpurpose program "Development of the Academic Potential of Higher Education” (2006-2008) of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Project RNP 21.3.491- "The Development of Pedagogical Universities Students’ Critical Thinking and Media Literacy in the Framework of the Specialization "Media Education” (03.13.30). The research supervisor of the project is Dr.Prof. Alexander Fedorov.
